"Research has shown that young children cannot identify the intimate couple because they do not have prior memory associated with such scenario. What they will see are the nine dolphins.

Additional note:

This is a test to determine if you already have a corrupted mind. If it's hard for you to find the dolphins within 6 seconds, your mind is indeed corrupted."

1280x1024 resolution *hehe* awesome!
i love the new icons and themes. it has many softwares now too. including AIM and ICQ which you may find in no other labs on compus muahahhaa. some of the softwares (like openoffice.org) load extremely slow. it doesn't have a good graphic software so i can't even convert my screenshot or resize it eek. anywayz.. it's much better than before. look in my terminal: i'm doing some Haskell coding XP

The Potion Maker
turtelinarium is an opaque, swirling turquoise liquid siphoned from the heart of a vampire.
dodozhang21ium is a translucent, grainy scarlet powder created from the liver of a phoenix.
Mixing turtelinarium with dodozhang21ium causes a violent chemical reaction, producing a translucent orange potion which gives the user the power of x-ray vision.

arg i hate bitchy people who feel like the world owes them something.

my day has been great until some bitch just came and complained about a printer in a side lab isn't turned out. so what? it's a saturday.. we barely have 10 people in the main lab (which has 75 computers). i usually don't even turn on all the computers in the main lab. there are three side labs (each has 30 computers) around the main lab. all the computers were turned on today coz my boss was doing imaging last nite. she was using a computer in the one of the classrooms and she came to complain how the printer wasn't turned on and that she had to turn that on. wtf? it will be a total wasting of energy if i were to turn on all the computers (total 75 + 3*30 = 165) for a daily usage less than 10 people. obviously it hurted her ego or hand to turn on a printer. i asked if there was anything else wrong with the printer, she was just giving me dirty looks and said "i don't know". i went to look at the printer, everything looked fine and her print job came out fine. but she wouldn't shut her mouth about how it should be turned on when the lab opens. my ass!

She's a Man

A man is sitting in the pub, having a round with his pals when the most
gorgeous woman enters the room. The man is dumbfounded by this woman's
beauty and comments about her to his mates.

"Yeah, she is pretty good." his mate replies, "Pity she's a man."

The man is shocked, "No way!"

"No, it's true. A friend of mine knows her personally."

The man is dissapointed that such a fine looking woman is in fact a man.
But at the same time, he is curious. He tells his mates that he is going
to find out what sex he/she really is.

So the man goes up to the "woman" and strikes up a converstaion. They hit
it off really well. And the man is loving it because this woman is even
better looking up close. Before long the man suggests that he drives them
out to a secluded spot and get to know each other. The woman agrees.

They drive to the woods and are getting hot and heavy in the back of the
car. They continue the "clothes on" making out for a while, until the
woman gets out of the car, explaining that she has to answer to the call
of nature.

"This is my chance," thinks the man, "I'll follow her and find out what
sex she is." So he walks into the woods ducking behind trees in case he is
seen, until he sees the woman standing with something long dangling
between her legs.

"Damn! She's got a dick!" he thinks, "She's a man." The man is outraged
and races towards her, dives down and grabs the thing between her legs.

"Oh my gosh!" The woman cries, "I didn't know you were following me!"

"And I didn't know you were taking a shit!" The man replies.

i just got this email thru AA submission form.

I am in graduate school (Masters in social Work) and writing my thesis on child abuse within the asian community. Could you send me a list of common forms of physical abuse or misconceptions of physical abuse within the asian community?
If so, please send to --- crossed out ---
Grealtly appreciated!

I'm surprised to hear a graduate student requesting me to give him a comprehesive list of anything. It sounds to me it's HIS job to compile such a list. I can probably provide him other raw data like intervews and dicussions etc. but hrm asking for a list?! I think I have my own homework to do *cough*

something pretty interesting i learned today from my professor. of course you might already know this. i've just been doing something quite dumb this whole time.

my email to the professor:
hi professor

I see you take a lot of screen shots of your programs. For all this time,
I always have to crop to get the outline of a program with a graphic
software from the screen shot of the entire screen. is there an easier
way to do it? like just get the outline of the one program that's active
instead of getting the entire screen without cropping? Thanks XP

the reply i got:
Yep,

On a windows machine if you simply hit the PrtSc (print screen) button,
usually near the top to the right of the function keys. If you want only
a single window, you can use Alt-PrtSc. The commands copy bmp file
(bitmap image) of either the whole screen or an individual window to the
clip board. You can then past it into applications such as Word, or
PowerPoint. That help?

slap me in the face but i'm so overly excited about this new algorithm and the functional language Haskell right now, i want to jump up and down. hahaha.. this is just too cool!!!!

it's a shame i've never heard of Sieve of Erastosthenes' algorithm for finding prime numbers before. he lived from 276-194BC.. bows to the master.. such a clever and easy way of find prime numbers ^_^ it makes me so happy. basically if i were to ask you how to find the first 100 prime numbers, what would you do? the way suggested by Sieve of Erastosthenes is so easy.

1. construct a list 'start' of 2 - infinite
2. add the first element in the list 'start' and put it in the list 'prime numbers'
3. delete all its multiples in the list 'start'
4. repeat step 2 until you reach the number of prime numbers you want

and what's even better?

last nite andy and i talked about football. LMAO~ yea me, talking about football. it's so unbelievable. ever since we started living together, i've been influenced by his hawkeye spirit and his addiction to football. espn actually ranked iowa in their top 10. that's certainly unexpected. last year we were the big 10 champion but lost to USC in the orange ball. that ball game pissed so many people off. we started with a near 100 yards rushing and got our butt kicked the rest of the game. how very disappointing. i saw most of hawkeye fans had left the stadium by the fourth quarter. totally humiliating. but it's surprising to see how many awakening hawkeye fans are 100% supportative this season. i really admire andy's spirit. he's a true hawkeye fan. it goes well with his honest and loyal personality. i hope hawkeye wins a good ball game this season.

GO HAWKEYES!

hehe.. this is a fun tricky question :) very simple if you think about it the other way.

Three men walk into a motel and ask for a room. The desk clerk says a room is $30 so each man pays $10 towards the cost. Later, the clerk realizes he made a mistake, that the room should have been $25. He calls the bell boy over and asks him to refund the other $5 to the three men. The bellboy, not wanting to mess with a lot of change dividing the $5 three ways, decides to lie about the price, refunding each man $1 and keeping the other $2 for himself. Ultimately each man paid $9 towards the room and the bellboy got $2, totaling $29. But the original charge was $30, where did the extra $1 go?

feeling really bored.. i have no motivation for anything. i refuse to visit dmb because it irritates me right now. iowa just lost to MSU.. arg.. that really sucks! i wanted to order this soap opera but instead i ordered its sequel arg... i emailed the custom service to have it replaced since i just ordered it. i don't understand how i could screw that up, it said "SEQUEL".. was i blind? i just called andy talking about that coin problem.. at least he's no longer overly involved in it. this morning he seriously acted mad that i didn't think his solution is right. i mean i believed it's 2/3 and he thinks it's 1/2. he was gonna write a big math proof and everything.. it seems he's much less ambitious now. he said he wants to borrow the Fellowship of the Ring extended edition from his brother and watch it tonite. i just don't have the interest to watch it again. arg.. i feel soooooo i don't know.. there are things i can do.. but since i'm not really required to do them, i just don't feel like doing them. if i weren't at this boring computer lab working, i can at least go to sleep! i can't wait til tomorrow. we are going to go to this BIG drag race! we will spend the whole day there.. his boss paid for our tickets which each cost $100 i think. man i just can't wait!!
woohoo.. start the count down.. we are going to the NHRA drag race at Joliet, Ill. today. we are going to leave at 6am. it's 2am, we are already widely awake (we went to sleep around 7pm XP) now we are just waiting for the clock to keep ticking. i will be posting photos from the drag race at pure-essence.net :) stay tune!

of course this is just my little dorky self. you probably don't care. hrm at least felisha cared a little bit haha.. that makes me feel better. but compelled by the disagreement i had with andy, i decided to write a visual basic program to demonstrate the correct answer to this problem. a screenshot is attached.

click to download the program if you want - no installation necessary. just unzip the run .exe file. arg this bites.. it only works if you have visual basic.net installed. i have to figure it this out :( grr

the problem is:

A box contains two coins. One coin is heads on both sides and the other is heads on one side and tails on the other. One coin is selected from the box at random and the face of one side is observed. If the face is heads what is the probability that the other side is heads?

the correct answer is 2/3. so if you want to argue it's 1/2, you should try the program.
