it just bugs so bad when people MISSPELL ON HUGE LOGO.. well i guess it's not really a misspelling but a grammar mistake. but jeez.. you'd think people pay more attention to their grammar when they make a logo?! share ITS legacy, my friend.
i've been obsessed with the song "1000 words" english version from FF X-2. i realize many people prefer the japanese version. but i heard the english version first and i'm touched by the song. it made me cry when i watched the FMV. i'm watching it over and over now. i will be uploading the mp3 i found.
ripped by someone directly from the video game. you can hear the fighting :) 2mb
i'm looking for lyrics that FIT this song. the ones i found don't seem to fit with what is being sung, can you believe that?
1000 Words

The orchestrated version but i want the version that's in the FMV. if you know where to find that one. please tell me.
"We chose our system name, Google, because it is a common spelling of googol, or 10^100 and fits well with our goal of building very large-scale search engines."
last time when we had a discussion, someone mentioned that BBC had done a research that showed the term "google" is as popular as "coke" world wide right now. do you believe it?
so much difference and so complicated. just thinking about it make my head hurts.

hi hailey, i was born in shanghai and lived there for 12 years. and then i moved to the US with my family. unlike many other chinese born teens in the US who tend to forget about china, i still care very much about china and still deem myself as a chinese. i try keep up with chinese news and politics. i dig deeply into chinese history. i can understand where you are coming from. when i was in china i didn't think at all about "rights" since no such concept was ever taught to me by anyone. but then i was young.. college students like you would probably have better understanding. but i still think that most chinese people don't really understand human rights since they were never given a lot. it was not until i came to the US did i see the discrepancy. i had a comparison and it provided me wider perspectives. now i do wish people are given more rights in china. more over i hope democracy will one day exist in china. but when i really think about it, chinese who live in china will not probably want their rights and democracy as eagerly as i do. because they were never shown the difference. and as long as they are getting richer and the society seems to improve and catching up the rest of world, they are quite satisified. if i had never left china, i am probably one of them. after all china had improved so dramatically over the past few decades. it's no surpise that chinese in china start to have hostile feelings toward foreigners who push for the changes. i don't like how the US governments keep acting like the world police either. but truthfully if you ever ask me if i want to go back to china to live.. i will probably answer no. freedom of speech and democracy is not something i can give up once i'm used to. there are a lot of cultural differences between the western and asian countries. but basic human rights and freedom of speech should be provided regardless of the differences. europeans and asians alike supressed those in ancient civilizations. those are not parts of a culture; they are parts of the world civilization.
i'm very astonished and saddened by the increasing number of AIDS vitims in China plus the apparent governmental carelessness in many cases to perhaps "save face". who knows.
挥着翅膀的女孩-我的骄傲-国语
当我还是一个懵懂的女孩
遇到爱不懂爱从过去到现在
直到他也离开留我在云海徘徊
明白没人能取代他曾给我的信赖
see me fly
i'm proud to fly up high
不能一直依赖别人给我拥戴
believe me i can fly
i am singing in the sky
就算风雨覆盖我也不怕重来
我已不是那个懵懂的女孩
遇到爱用力爱人心真爱
风雨来不避开谦虚把头低下来
像沙鸥来去填密只为寻一个奇迹
see me fly
i'm proud to fly up high
生命已经打开我要你总精彩
believe me i can fly
i am singing in the sky
你曾经对我说做勇敢的女孩
我盼有一天能和你相见
骄傲的对着天空说
世界乘你兜风
let me fly
我不会孤单因为你都在 download

i stumpled upon this interesting article when searching. it's directly related to the debate on peking duck blog i participated earlier. what a coincident. i'm highly interested in this topic. i'm learning a lot by reading the blogs presented by both foreigners and chinese natives about chinese politics.
"We can term it as the "modernization" or "westernization" of Asia, but either way, it will be considered as the transition/conformity of Asian culture to those of the Western world.
I do believe that change must occur. Currently, there exists a serious flaw in the way things are done. Supression in the most fundamental state of affairs cannot be excused as a price for development. Steps must be made to ensure that these flaws are addressed to keep an equilibruim, or at least to close the margin between the the two. Human rights issues cannot be swept under the carpet simply because it is in the way of development.
As a citizen of the a developing country, I have come to realise that these issues are not huge concerns for the majority of the public. We only know what we are told and the culture is such that we mind our own business and put peace above most else. Perhaps it is the fear of chaos. However, I am not saying this for everyone as it is just an observation."

browsercam can show you what your site looks like in a huge list of browser on Windows, Mac, and even Linux. iCapture is a new free service, but only covers Safari. KCapture is also free, but only covers Konqueror.
i in no way agrees with this passage but it's just hilarious to read.
.......Bloggers tend to be passionate about their hobby, and the best among them — the so-called blogerati or blognoscenti — are genuine stars, with dedicated followers. These include the likes of writer Doc Searles (doc.weblogs.com), the Electronic Frontier Foundation's Cory Doctorow (boingboing.net), journalist Andrew Sullivan (www.andrewsullivan.com), and technoguru Esther Dyson (release4.blogspot.com).
The vast majority of blogs are nothing more than ever-so-slightly glorified online diaries that record the daily trials and tribulations of the blogger. The worst of these journal blogs are dismissed as kittyblogs (since so many of them describe what their cat has done that day) or bloggerel (blog doggerel), and these bloggers are often accused of oversharing (providing too much detail about their personal lives) or being guilty of blogorrhea (posting too much information in general).
The rest of the blogosphere consists mostly of blogs devoted to specific topics. For example, a blawg is related to legal matters or is written by a lawyer; a bleg is used to beg for help or money; an advocacy blog supports a political cause; and a news blog or pundit blog examines mainstream news media and punditry (not to be confused with a blog that breaks its own news, or blews).
Covering language and linguistics is the job of a linguablog; a tech blog focuses on technology; an edu-blog discusses education issues; a warblog tackles war, particularly the war on terrorism; and a photog is a blog that posts pictures, particularly candid shots of people in public places.
In recent months, we've seen the rise of the moblog, a blog maintained and updated using a mobile device such as a notebook, a palmtop computer, or a cellphone. (Photogs are often updated via the new camera phones that are the latest rage.) With its emphasis on mobility, the moblog has created an interesting new dynamic at conferences and business meetings, as bloggers post critiques of the current speaker and other attendees read those critiques and comment on them. This generates an entire back channel of communication that the speaker is likely to be unaware of.....
it's not surprising.. it appears that chinese government has blocked http://www.chinalaborunion.org/ sponsored by 魏京生基金会
for a guy who's been a political prisoner for a long time.. it's no suprise that the chinese gov't would block his websites. it's very sad indeed. many articles posted on that site deserve to be read. many are outcries and of course it completely uncovers many dark sides of chinese government. i'm going to move some of articles over to geocities. sigh... here's the one i posted before. none of the chinese in china said they could open the page.
they do have an english version of the site. but they don't post nearly as many incredible articles as they do in chinese

i think roy did a good job coding and maintaining tabulas. right now tabulas is facing over crowding problem. for those who enjoy tabulas may want to consider buying a paid account or donate some money. help roy out?
One day a man is riding the subway. He was the first one on so he waited for everyone else to board. He sees a teenage kid with multi colored hair, a mohawk and feather earrings in both ears.
The man stares at the punk for a while until the boy finally shouts out to him
"What are you looking at?!"
The man then replies " About 17 years ago when I was in South America I got drunk, I then screwed a parrot and I thought you could be my son."
