Love

I could write romantic poetry
if I could think up rhymes.

Tattoo "I love you" on my butt
about a million times.

I'd swim the deepest ocean
(if I wasn't scared of sharks).

Carve our intials on a tree?
What?! And vandalize our parks?

I'd climb the highest mountain
if you'd drive me to Tibet.

Reenact our love with puppets?
No. That's my dumbest idea yet!

Jeez, this is going badly-
it's like my brain is stuck.

Just believe I love you-
now let's go someplace and...

Cuddle.

See, I told you I had trouble with rhymes.

just got this from my professor

If you have 5-7 minutes during the next day or two I would sincerely appreciate your help. We're doing some research into the Web as a reflection of popular culture and as part of that work looking at word familiarity.

If interested, please go to:
http://imagination.cs.northwestern.edu/study/index.php and complete the survey.

Thanks.

it's kinda funny.. i'm enlightened LOL.. ever wondered why the F word can be a noun, adj, adverb, verb etc all at the same time?

for people who have limited vocabulary, they have to expand the usage of the word they use the most.

leah: I used to curse when I was younger.
leah: I completely stopped by the 11th grade
leah: I think it was a phase.
dodo: some people don't grow out of it LOL
leah: very true.
leah: I eventually realized that if you can only use a 4 letter word to express yourself, you have a pretty limited vocabulary.
dodo: hehe.. that's why the F word becomes the one of most functional words in english HAHA. did you see this? http://www.funnyjunk.com/pages/history.htm

wow this thread blows me away

some one said "For public school in US, I only know that they install metal screen detector at the entrance.

Students attending public school in US is only slighty less risky than soldiers stationing in Iraq."

as far as i know.. they don't install metal screen detector at the entrance in my schools. i mean we hear shooting incidents in schools and everything but i never felt my life was in constant danger when i was attending schools in the US. or am i just 100% ignorant?

just being curious, i did a little research
this argues that violence is going down

this is a bit less optimistic

For every 100,000 public school students, 26 attacks or fights with a weapon, 17 robberies, and 10 rapes occurred at school (Table 10). These represented the serious violent crimes for which the survey collected data. More frequently reported were the less serious or nonviolent crimes including 444 attacks or fights without a weapon, 274 incidents of theft or larceny, and 234 incidents of vandalism per 100,000 students in public schools.

still, are these comparable precentages with a war zone?

more stats

no wonder iowa city is rated one of the most safe city in the US, never heard of s*** like those.

oh this is interesting!
Adults in the workplace are at greater risk of violence than students in school. According to a U.S. Department of Justice report, Workplace Violence, 1992-96:

isn't this lovely?? if i use this as my personal clock, i could at least double the speed of my daily tasks.

The world population clock is a statistics-driven calculator of the world's estimated population. Developed at Princeton University, USA, the clock is based on analysis of available data on population, fertility, mortality, and migration. The analysis is performed separately for the 227 countries or areas of the world with a population of 5,000 or more.

Three guys go to a ski lodge, and there aren't enough rooms, so they have to share a bed. In the middle of the night, the guy on the right wakes up and says, "I had this wild, vivid dream of getting a hand job!" The guy on the left wakes up, and unbelievably, he's had the same dream, too. Then the guy in the middle wakes up and says, "That's funny, I dreamed I was skiing!"

at least mine did. of course my cats were partly outdoor cats. wonder if those who've been sheltered all their lives would freak out when they see a real mouse - or maybe a big one?

this article talks about how a lot of cats in china are too lazy or too scared to catch mice.

translation
"These days, the cats are too lazy. They know how to eat but they won't work. They can't catch mice anymore." What is going on?

Case #1: Cats are lazy. A Mr. Chen is in the business of supplying wood to interior decorators. Not long ago, there was a rodent problem in his shop. The rodents even came out during the day and pranced around the wood supply. At night, they came out and chewed the wood, leaving bite marks as well as droppings.

Hoping to reduce his loss, Mr. Chen borrowed a cat from a friend and hoped that the cat would discharge its duties. The cat was not good at catching mice. In the beginning, the cat could actually scare the mice away by meowing. After a few days, the cat settled into a routine where it would eat and then nap, leaving the mice to run amok again. These days, cats are well fed with special diets so that they have no need or interest in rodents.

Case #2: Cats are afraid of mice. A Ms. Li likes cats and recently obtained one. One evening, when Ms. Li came home from work, she saw this strange sight. There was a big rat by the garbage can and the cat was facing it. At first, the rat looked afraid as it wondered whether it should stay or leave in the face of its natural enemy; but the cat was actually more afraid, for it trembled, screamed and fled. These days, cats rarely even encounter rodents, much less deal with them.

就象我爸问andy: what's up yours 其实想问 what's up with you? LMAO

1. Never raise your hands to your kids. It leaves your groin
unprotected.

2. I'm not into working out. My philosophy is no pain, no pain.

3. I'm in shape. Round is a shape.

4. I'm desperately trying to figure out why Kamikaze pilots wore
helmets.

5. Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?

6. I've always wanted to be somebody, but I should have been
more specific.

7. Ever notice when you blow in a dog's face he gets mad at you,
but when you take him in a car he sticks his head out the window?

8. Ever notice that anyone going slower than you is an idiot,
but anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

9. You have to stay in shape. My mother started walking five
miles a day when she was 60. She's 97 now and we have no idea
where she is.

10. I have six locks on my door, all in a row. When I go out, I
lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody
stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three of
them.

11. One out of every three Canadians is suffering from some form
of mental illness. Think of two of your best friends. If they
are OK, then it must be you.

12. They show you how detergents take out bloodstains. I think
if you've got a T-shirt with bloodstains all over it, maybe your
laundry isn't your biggest problem.

13. Ask people why they have deer heads on their walls and they
tell you it's because they're such beautiful animals. I think my
wife is beautiful, but I only have photographs of her on the
wall.

14. A lady came up to me on the street, pointed at my suede
jacket and said, "Don't you know a cow was murdered for that
jacket?" I said "I didn't know there were any witnesses. Now
I'll have to kill you too".

15. Future historians will be able to study at the Jimmy Carter
Library, the Gerald Ford Library, the Ronald Reagan Library, and
the Bill Clinton Adult Bookstore

submit your pet peeves

http://www.smalltimedork.com/dork.php?content=pet_peeves

pet peeve: people who talk loudly on their cell phones in the library or the computer lab.
people whose cell phones ring during a movie.
people who misspell when making big header banners.
people who turn up the volume of their cell phone ringer while they are testing out which one to use.
people who gossip about other people's personal business.
people think they are so cool to be drunk and puke all over the place.
when you walk around trying to avoid a smoker while waiting outside of a restaurant, s/he follows you and blows the smoke right in front of you.

peeve's origin: the last one really happened. i wanted to smack her so bad. i also think people who don't have common sense and curtesy should be banned from using cell phones.

转啊转就真的遇见mr.right
